Poprad
Poprad is situated at the foot of the High Tatras mountains, and is a useful base for travelers wishing to explore Slovakia's most well-known attraction.
Region: Presov Population: 57,000
Poprad Town Center Unfortunately, the town itself doesn't quite live up to its spectacular surroundings, although there are a number of good bars and restaurants in the center, as well as a few tourist attractions such as the Podtatranske Museum.

Perhaps more interesting though, is the little town of Spisska Sobota, 2km northeast of Poprad.
