Liptov

Liptov is a beautiful region with a rich cultural history, famous for
it's folklore and architecture. Liptov is surrounded by mountains, which are perfect for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.

You can go rafting or fishing on the river Váh which runs through
Liptov, or try paragliding or horseriding nearby. There are thermal swimming pools,
health spas and breathtaking caves in the area too. Something for everyone!

Any visit to Liptov should include a trip to the village of Vlkolinec, which seems like it has been stuck in time for the last two hundred years. Such is the unspoilt beauty of this little village just outside of Ruzomberok, that in 1993 it was included in the List of World Cultural and Nature Heritage of UNESCO. Today, Vlkolinec is one of the most visited and photographed localities in Slovakia, and is ideal for a wonderful, relaxing afternoon visit.
