Prince Mojmir lived in Devin castle and ruled over part of Western Slovakia and Moravia (which is now part of present day Czech Republic).
In the year 833, Mojmir crossed over the White Carpathian mountain range, and attacked Pribina and his Nitra Empire. Prince Mojmir successfully defeated Pribina, who fled Nitra, and so Mojmir became the first ruler of what was to become known as the Great Moravian Empire.
