Famous Slovaks: Matus Cak
Matus Cak was the ruler of the Vah and the Tatras region, and lived in Trencin castle. He is known as one of the greatest Slovak rulers, owning dozens of castles and fortresses in the region of present day Central and Western Slovakia.
Matus Cak died on the battlefield at Rozhanovce, by the River Torysa, where his army fought against the troops of King Charles Robert of Anjou. With him also died the last chance of a Slovak State, until the C20th.
