Slovak Facts and Figures

On the 1st January 1993, following the Velvet Divorce and the break up of Czechoslovakia, a new country was born. At last the Slovak people had realized their dream of an independent Slovakia.

This small country in Central Europe is becoming ever more popular as a holiday destination. With some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe, historical towns and cities, fairytale castles, show caves, spa resorts, and excellent recreational opportunities, it seems Slovakia has something to offer for everyone.

Today, Slovakia is working hard to meet the requirements necessary for integration into the European Union. The prospects of achieving this goal appear very good at the present time. Lets hope the future for this beautiful little country in the heart of Europe, who's people have struggled so often over the last Millennium, is a bright one!
